TOok some picturrrres, and updated on some old stuff, the ones the I didnt’ feel the photos did justice to the garments. Like… this one: thesterrious_jansenlegging5 thesterrious_valeriesweaterdress6

I personally think it’s a great sweater dress. Yes, it’s teetering on the edge of normal and outrageous. I’d run around @ central park in it and tourists might think I’m crazy that I’m still in my halloween costume, but it’s fashion, should be fun.

I love that fabric! It’s wool/rayon/spandex blend. It’s soft, medium weight, and great for draping. If you know me personally, you know I hate wearing pants. I’m almost never in pants, usually in skirts, cuffed shorts, whatevs. As winter approaching, I’m still not wearing pants. I opt for sweater leggings and long sweater dresses. I don’t understand the concept behind pants, unless it’s knit pants. It’s restricting and kinda boring, but again, that’s just my opinion. So I searched for fabric and made mys sweater leggings! lol!

Remember I said I want to wear harem pants? This is my harem sweater leggings. See, I’m still not wearing paaaannnnnttttttsss! Anyway, I made the nautical-esque top as well. I like the geometry of these lines and silhouette of this outfit.

This kinda screams.. well, I don’t know what this screams. But I like the head scarf as it serves many purposes. ha! I’m a practical girl, I don’t go for things that just “look pretty” (an irony to my career choice). I like things that look pretty and has a function as well. If I were a man, I’d probably be the last one on earth to marry the type that just “looks pretty”.. but that’s whole another topic. The leggings in pictures are regular leggings… I like those too, as my bf says, “They contour my ass”. If you want your ass contoured, those are the leggings to wear. lol.

Everything is sold on etsy… here’s the link.

I love the A-line, plaid, sweetheart neckline, big poofy skirt. It’s something I felt could be worn truly on a daily basis. It looks comfortable, style isn’t too outrageous, and on the Louis Vuitton runway, from the texture of the fabric you can really see the luxury in the items. I should really run to the Louis Vuitton store on fifth ave to see them real life.

Last 2 pictures are my rendition of those dresses. Hem line is definitely shorter to suite the younger, more contemporary audience. I have the princess seam and sweetheart neckline that was inspired by the ladylike style and A-line for the lady like silhouette. Plaid because it’s great. A-line dresses like this can’t be done with fabric of no pattern or texture, or else it’ll scream “booooorrrrrrriiinnng”. I know there’s a huge difference between making something interesting and making something too outrageous and unwearable, that’s why I made two side pockets to make it “functional” as well. But best of all, It’s on sale here on etsy! I feel like I need to explain my designs a big more… I’m more of the show, not tell type of girl mainly because I’m not good with expressions, words for emotions, you know, writing stuff. To me, everything is very intuitive and trusting the inner sense, I try hard to put them in words.

Next week’s Inspiration

A-lined ladylike bustier dresses.

lvdress1lvdress2 lvdress3 lvdress4 Sweetheart neckline, plaids, shoulder straps, and do you see the bows on the stilettos?? POSH! posh_spice_hermes Victoria Beckham and her white Hermes If I could dress like this everyday, I probably would. In the perfect world, I would have a pair of stilettos to match the plaids on my big poofy skirt. Black/Brown leather gloves and a chic hermes kelly bag.

The American Indian tank top. lol.

Made this tank last week. I’m absolute effing in love with this fabric. Silk twill and this amazing pattern.. I was desperately needing something to layer underneath my cardigans other than cheap tank tops from Forever 21 for my lazy but don’t want to look too lazy days, so this is what I came up withhh…. thesterrious_joeytop5 thesterrious_joeytop8 thesterrious_joeytop6 thesterrious_joeytop3

It’s getting cold!!!!! Clothes to wear, fabric to wear.

Just how many ways can you do a wrap coat? Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2010 anndemeulemeesterwrapcoat anndemeulemeesterwrap2 anndemeulemeesterwrap anndemeulemeesterfurwrap I’m in love with this double breasted big lapel coat wrap coat! Especially the one in fur.. haha. I’ve been looking for something versatile and warm for a while. I love the asymmetrical hem. The ideal coat for me would be a knit fabric coat that looks like it isn’t knit. I hate the restricting of woven fabric. I’m still on my hunt for a knitted and fashionable boucle fabric for my coat. Long or cropped would look good. boucle Boucle I love boucle and tweed, but it’s also very tricky. When it isn’t done right, it can look very very grandma-ish. And I’m not talking about vintage-inspired grandma, it’s old style un-modern grandma. If I ever get my hand on a knitted cropped boucle jacket, I’d wear it with these Alice & Olivia harem pants. aliceoliviapant
